Soon after adding document support and a set of new Emojis to its platform, WhatsApp is back with a completely revamped Settings page on Android. The Settings screen brings a couple of new features including a circular profile picture, instead of a square one like before.
The new WhatsApp Settings page is a part of version 2.12.506, which can be downloaded as an APK from APK Mirror, says Android Police. Users can also get the new version by being a part of the Google beta program. WhatsApp has otherwise not rolled out the update to the Google Play Store or its website.
The major change that WhatsApp brings is the placement and arrangement of profile picture. The Profile Settings option that appeared in the second place, will now be seen at the top. The circular profile picture also gets a floating action button that will let users change their image directly.
Also, shown along, on the right side of the picture will be the phone number and status. WhatsApp has changed the colour of its pen like icon to green from grey.
WhatsApp has done away with its Payment info page as the app is completely free now. WhatsApp Settings page now comes with a new Data Usage option, which lets users choose what kind of files they want to download, when on a WiFi connection or mobile data or Roaming. The Chats and calls setting is now just 'Chats' and call settings can be found under Data Usage option.
